MEET MR. PAUL HILL

My name is Paul Hill, born and raised in Memphis, Tennessee and just recently moved back to Memphis after residing in Georgia for the last twelve years.  I attended Arkansas State University, Memphis State University, Trevecca Nazarene University and the United States Army School of Music.  I received a B. S. in Music Education and a M.ED. in Educational Administration.  A Vietnam Veteran where I served as a clerk-typist and later as a Trumpeter and chief musical arranger with the Eighth U. S. Army Band in Seoul, S. Korea.  I had the unique opportunity to perform with numerous artists during the 70’s and 80’s some of whom include the Temptations, Spinners, Manhattans, Lou Rawls, Gladys Knights and the Pips, Dramatics, Bob Hope, Barbra Streisand, Nancy Wilson, BB King and countless others during my illustrious career as a professional musician prior to entering the teaching field.

Additionally, I taught instrumental music, basic to advanced theory, general music, vocal music and other related subjects as needed at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels.

As a public education music specialist, teaching has provided not only a paycheck but has allowed me to meet and teach many excellent students during an extensive career.  Many of my former students are now very successful in their chosen fields of endeavors and some have actually become professional musicians and instructors.  I attribute much of my success as an educator to my willingness to go the extra mile, perseverance, consistency and a positive mental attitude.  As an entrepreneur, I will employ many of the same ingredients with those students who are passionate about becoming excellent musicians.  Over the last 25 years, I have had the opportunity to attend many workshops, seminars, and symposiums, where I was introduced to many facets of the music business, up-to-date musical notation software, new and improved teaching strategies designed to enhance one’s performance in a class-room setting.  All of this pertinent information that was shared with me will have a direct effect on those individuals who become part of my excellent musical program.  I have also devised an in-depth training tool that allows any student under my tutelage to excel even under the most rigorous and technical musical climates of today.
